Credits/Disclaimer (creds) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ****Note**** If you want to E-mail me remove the NO JUNK from my e-mail. This is only a quick walkthrough on how to achieve every scenario and get to the ending. This walkthrough assumes you already know how to play, and I will let you decide on how you want to approach a battle. I will just point out the conditions needed to get to a certain scenario and maybe throw in a few things I think will help. I've tried recreating the History flow charts as best I could. With the exception of Liu Bei's, they should hopefully be realtively easy to read and understand. The walkthrough will follow the flowcart from the game from left to right, and from top to bottom (and the way its presented here, from top to bottom, left to right) and will be numbered as such. Example: In Sun Ce's scenario, "Sun Ce's Beginning", would be 1-1 (Column 1 - Row 1), and further down "Cao Cao takes the North" would be (4-1) and "Sun Quan's Stand" would be (4-2). This should hopefully make things easier to find with the Find command in so many browsers and text editors. ****************************************************************************** I. Revision History (rev_hist) ****************************************************************************** Version 1.01 (Feb 01, 2004) - Added in search codes to help find sections quicker. - Minor little fixes here and there Version 1.00 (Jan 01, 2004) - Sun Ce Walkthrough done - Cao Cao Walkthrough done - Liu Bei Walktrhough done ****************************************************************************** II. General Hints/Tips/Strategies (gen_hints) ****************************************************************************** - When trying to recruit people save before you end your turn. This way if your envoy fails just reload and hope that he doesn't next time. The same can be said for your spies. - Recruit everyone! Even if you don't use them you don't want your opponents using them against you. - One trick you can use to recruit people in other ruler's territory is to ally with them, thus allowing you easy access through their territory. - Capture, capture, capture. Capture everybody you can during battle. The general requirement for capturing seems to be: 2-hit Combo- Captures guys around Level 3 and lower 3-hit Combo- Captures guys around Level 4 and lower 4-hit Combo- Captures guys around Level 5 and lower 5-hit Combo- Captures guys around Level 6 and lower 6+-hit Combo- Captures guys around Level 7 and higher - You need to do at least a two hit combo to capture anyone. Its generally the level of the officer + 1 = number of combos to capture an officer. If you can do around 6 or more to any person that should be enough to capture them. There are of course exceptions, I've noticed some of the "stronger" officers, like Zhao Yun, require a slightly higher number of combos than the norm. - Some officers CANNOT be captured. This mostly pertains to Rulers, i.e Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Sun Ce, Sun Quan, Liu Biao, Ma Teng, etc. and Story characters, i.e Sima Yi, Sun Li, Guan Yu, Zhou Yu, Zhang Fei, etc.. Some officers like Yu Jin are uncapturable near the beginning but in later scenarios they can be captured or recruited. Others can be captured or recruited in the early scenarios, but in later scenarios become uncapturable. Finally, in order to see the Best Ending for each ruler, you MUST beat the game with that ruler at least ONCE. If you haven't, you will not be able to see their best ending. ****************************************************************************** III. Just defeat the enemy commander Liu Yong to beat this scenario. -Don't worry too much about capturing officers in this scenario, they'll be avalibale for recruitment after you beat this scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sun Ce at Jiang Dong (2-1) (wu_2-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Yan Bai Hu and Wang Lang (Leads to 3-1) Turns: 6 Turns 1. When you first start off you will want to recruit as many people as you can get. Use your first few turns to recruit everyone around you. Be sure to check the Civilian and Officer list and view their frind list to know who you can recruit. 2. I suggest having an army occupy Pan Yang to get the On Policy item. This will help in recruting people. 3. Once you've done that go and wipe out Yan Bai Hu and Wang Lang before the time runs out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kingdom of Wu (3-1) (wu_3-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy either Lu Kou (Leads to 4-1) or Xu Chang within the time given (Leads to 4-2) Turns: 10 Turns 1. You cannot exactly complete the objectives given to you. Instead if you place an army on Wu Chang, the city next to Lu Kou (leads to 4-1), or Shou Chun, the city above your territory (leads to 4-2), the scenario will end and you will move onto the next. 2. It is recommened that you just use this time to recruit people. You should have ample oppurtinity to recruit at least a dozen people without worry of being attacked. 3. Be sure to occupy Pan Yang and get the On Policy item, if you haven't done so already. This will make recruting those guys in enemy territory that much easier. You can also occupy Jian An to recieve the Spell Book item if you wish. 4. If you wait a few turns (usually your fifth or sixth) Lu Meng will show up and join your ranks. 5. Once you've completed recruiting everyone you can attack Wu Chang or Shou Chun to move on to your next scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cao Cao takes the North (4-1) (wu_4-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Jiang Xia within the time given (Leads to 5-1) Turns: 6 Turns 1. This scenario again can be easily beaten. Liu Biao shouldn't pose to much of a threat, especially if you've recruited a lot of men. Liu Biao does have a few noteworthy people on his side, (i.e. Gan Ning, Xu Shu, and Pang Tong when I fought him) all of which are worthy of capture. 2. March your focrce onto Wu Chang and Lu Kou, and finally Jiang Xia to beat this scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sun Quan's Stand (4-2) (wu_4-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Jiang Xia within the time given (Leads to 5-2) Turns: 8 Turns 1. Just take Jiang Xia to end this scenario. Liu Biao does have a few noteworthy people of capture, Gan Ning and Xu Shu as an example, and would be worth your time to capture. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Shoot for the Sun (5-1) (wu_5-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Work to pacify the land within the time given or (Leads to 6-1) Ally with Liu Bei within the time given (Leads to 6-2) Turns: 4 Turns 1. You once again have two choices in this scenario and not much time to make it in. 2. First, send an army to crush Fei Zhan. 3. If you want to ally with Liu Bei send a Diplomat over to his city, and on the next turn you will be given the chance to ally with him. You need at least two turns to do this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Night Before Chi Bi (5-2) (wu_5-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Lu Kou within the time given (Leads to 6-3) Turns: 6 Turns 1. Camp your strongest two armies at Wu Chang and wait there for 5 turns. 2. Cao Cao will attack you a couple of times. Use that chance to capture everyone that you possibly can. 3. On the final turn take Lu Kou to end the scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The fleeing Liu Bei (6-1) (wu_6-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Lu Kou within the time given (Leads to 7-1) Turns: 6 Turns 1. Your first battle with Cao Cao, and what will probably be the first challenge you really face. Move your forces to Wu Chang and stay there. 2. Cao Cao will attack you, and you should use this chance to capture any and every officer you can from him. 3. Also be sure to defeat Cao Cao at least once with a 3+ hit combo to recieve his Meng De item. 4. On the final turn move your forces to Lu Kou and defeat Cao Cao's forces. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liu Bei borrows Jiang Xia (6-2) (wu_6-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Lu Kou within the time given (Leads to 7-2) Turns: 6 Turns 1. Simply occupy Lu Kou to advance to the next scenario. 2. I suggest that you use your own two armies to do the fighting rather than have Liu Bei join in your fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zhou Yu's Chi Bi (6-3) (wu_6-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Take Chang Sha, Ling Ling, Gui Yang, and Wu Ling from Liu Bei within the time given. (Leads to 7-3) Or do nothing (Leads to 7-4) Turns: 8 Turns 1. You have two options in this scenario. 2. The first is to take SOME of the southern Jing cities. When I say SOME, I mean at least THREE of the southern cities. Liu Bei tends to take one of the cities, due to the fact that he's closer and you can't reach the first city in time to stop him. In order to move on to the 7-3 path you at least need to take THREE cities. 3. Or you can just wait until all of your turns are gone to move on to the 7-4 scenario, or when Liu Bei takes over two of the required cites the scenario will end. 4. You'll also have to contend with one rebel force, but you should be able to wipe him out with little effort. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Assault on Mt. Jiu Tie (7-1) (wu_7-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Jiang Ling, Jiang Xia, Xiang Yang, Chang Sha, Ling Ling, Gui Yang, and Wu Ling within the time given. (Leads to 8-1) Turns: 10 Turns 1. This is a rather simple scenario. All you have to do is take over 7 cities within 10 turns. You'll probably want to make at least 4 armies, 2 to send to Northern Jing and the other to take over Southern Jing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zhou Yu's Chi Bi (7-2) (wu_7-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Chang Sha, Ling Ling, Gui Yang, and Wu Ling within the time given. (Leads to 8-2) Turns: 10 Turns 1. Simply take over the 4 souther cities to beat this scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zhou Yu's Two Kingdoms (7-3) (wu_7-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 9-3) Turns: 8 Turns 1. Just declare war on Liu Zhang. You won't be able to occupy Cheng Du. Once you've declared war on Liu Zhang, you'll move on to the next scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liu Bei takes Jing (7-4) (wu_7-4) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Stop Cao Cao's movement South withn the time given (Leads to 9-4) Turns: 3 Turns 1. This scenario is pretty short and all you have to do is stop Cao Cao from taking over Ru Xu Kou, the city next to your capital. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sun Ce and Zhou Yu (8-1) (wu_8-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Attack the surrounding forces within the time given (Leads to 9-1) (haven't beaten Sun Ce scenario at least once or don't crush rebels) (Leads to 9-2) Turns: 4 Turns 1. There are two possibilites in this scenario. If you can crush the rebels within the short time given to you, you will head off to Sun Ce's Determination (9-1), if you don't crush the rebellion in time you will be put on the path of Sun Ce and Yi (9-2). 2. Shi Xie, the ruler who starts at the bottom of your territory in Nan Hai tends to take over either Ling Ling and/or Gui Yang. If he does two armies do not have enough time to re-take the cities and destory him. If you want to head to the (9-1) path I suggest having one or two armies take out the rebellion in the city of Wu. Then have 3 or 4 armies heading south towards Shi Xie both in different directions. One set heading towards Ling Ling and Gui Yang and another taking the outermost path towards his capital Nan Hai. *****Note***** If you have not beaten Sun Ce's scenario at least once, the game will automatically put you on the (9-2) path despite you achieving the objectives for the (9-1) path. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sun Quan's Stand (8-2) (wu_8-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 9-3) Turns: 8 Turns 1. Just march a force towards any of Liu Zhang's cities and declare war on him to end this scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sun Ce's Determination (9-1) (wu_9-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Fight Liu Zhang within the time given or (Leads to 10-2) Fight Cao Cao within the time given (Leads to 10-1) Turns: 5 Turns 1. No real surprises here. Just head an army towards Cao Cao's territory or have one head towards Liu Zhang's territory to move on to the next scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sun Ce and Yi (9-2) (wu_9-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Fight Liu Zhang within the time given (Leads to 10-2) Turns: 5 Turns 1. This scenario only requires you to take over one of Liu Zhang's cities. Once you've done that it will move onto the next scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liu Bei betrays Liu Zhang (9-3) (wu_9-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Xiao Pei and Xia Pi within the time given or (Leads to 11-4) Occupy Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 11-3) Turns: 12 Turns 1. Only two decisions to make here. Either occupy Cheng Du or Xiao Pei and Xia Pi. 2. If your bold, attack Cao Cao and Liu Zhang at the same time. Depending on which route you eventually head too, you can greatly increase your size as well as shrink the numbers your enemies will have. Just be sure that you don't accidently take over one of the required cities that you didn't want too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sun Quan and Guan Yu (9-4) (wu_9-4) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Xiang Yang within the time given (Leads to 11-5) Turns: 10 Turns 1. All you need to do is take Xiang Yang. It shouldn't be too hard to do 2. You might also want to send another army to take the Southern Jing cities. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Advance on Cao Cao (10-1) (wu_10-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Xu Chang within the time given (Leads to 11-1) Turns: 20 Turns 1. No real suprises here. Just march towards Xu Chang. When you get close to Xu Chang, usually after taking Jiao, the scenario will end and take you to the next. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Advance on Yi (10-2) (wu_10-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Attack Liu Zhang within the time given (Leads to 11-2) Turns: 1 Turns 1. Again, another simple scenario. With one turn and only one city there really isn't much choice is there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zhou Yu's Departure (11-1) (wu_11-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Ye, Chang An, Luo Yang, and Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 12-1) Turns: 8 Turns 1. You don't have enough turns to complete the objectives in this scenario. For now just send an army to defend one of cites that borders Liu Bei. With a stong team you should be able to hold Liu Bei back if he attacks. 2. Send another army towards Luo Yang. When you get close to the city the scenario will automatically end. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liu Bei defends Yi (11-2) (wu_11-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 12-2) Turns: 12 Turns 1. The only thing to accomplish in this scenario is to take Cheng Du. 2. You may want to make a few armies to take over the surrounding cities. The city above Cheng Du has the Analects item, and two to the very South of Cheng Du also contain the Wu Tzu and Treastise items. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Two Kingdoms (11-3) (wu_11-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Xu Chang, Chang An, and Luo Yang within the time given (Leads to 13-2) Turns: 20 Turns 1. Cao Cao poses the largest threat in this scenario. Have your strongest armies engage him. I personally recommened that you have your strongest head towards Xu Chang, and a secondary force to Luo Yang. 2. You will also have too worry about two rebels in this scenario. They aren't very tough, so a realtively medium-powered army should wipe em out. 3. Zhang Lu and Ma Teng can also be attacked if you wish. At this point it doesn't really matter, but since they are there you might as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Broken Swords (11-4) (wu_11-4) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: With Liu Bei, occupy Xu Chang, Chang An, and Luo Yang within the time given. (Leads to 13-3) Turns: 20 Turns 1. This is the final scenario, and all you have to do is take the three cities listed. It shouldn't be too hard and Liu Bei's forces do help, but not by much. 2. You'll also have two rebel forces to deal with, but they should give you no trouble. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liu Bei's Vengenance (11-5) (wu_11-5) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Cheng Du (Leads to 13-5) or Yong An within the time given (Leads to 13-4) Turns: 20 Turns 1. This is the final scenario. Depending on which objective you complete you'll see one of two possible endings. The nice thing is that once you've completed one objective you can easily reload your save and complete the other scenario to see the other ending. Just be sure you give yourself ample time. 2. I suggest stationing an army near Yong An, regardless of whether thats the objective you want to complete. Also station another army at Wu Ling. From here you can decide which you want to do. Have an army defend the cities near Yong An while you have another march towards Cheng Du or just take Yong An. 3. You'll also have two rebel forces to deal with. They should pose no threat at this point. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zhou Yu's Return (12-1) (wu_12-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: With Ma Teng occupy Ye, Chang An, Luo Yang, and Cheng Du within the time given. (Leads to 13-1) Turns: 30 turns 1. The final scenario and you will have two powerful forces to contend with. Liu Bei isn't too much of a threat, he has a handful of guys which means a few repeated attacks and he should go down pretty easily. You also have Ma Teng as an ally, but at this point you really don't need it. He's mostly helpful for taking down Liu Bei or Chang An. 2. Cao Cao on the other hand doesn't suffer from that dilemma of too little officers. As a suggestion, you may want to create at least 6 armies to take down Cao Cao. Your two strongest to engage Cao Cao's forces, your second two strongest to take Chang An, and the third to take over Cao Cao's cities to cut off his movement. 3. You can take down Zhang Lu if you wish. Not neceassry for beating this scenario, but since he's there you might as well beat him. 4. Of special interest is that you can now recruit Lu Bu into your army. He's a civilian in Kuai Ji and thankfully in your territory so he shouldn't be too difficult to recruit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sun Quan's Stand (12-2) (wu_12-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Xu Chang, Chang An, and Luo Yang within the time given. (Leads to 13-2) Turns: 20 Turns 1. The final scenario, and you once again have to contend with Cao Cao's large army and territory. 2. You may want to send a secondary force to guard Xiang Yang and the surrounding area. I've occasionally had Cao Cao send an army down there and tried to take over some of my cities. 3. Other than that just use your strongest armies to quickly take over the required cities. You'll probably want to make another army just to take over Cao Cao's other territory, this way his capital won't appear somewhere you don't want it to and he starts an attack in a place you don't want him too. 4. You can take down Zhang Lu if you wish. Not neceassry for beating this scenario, but since he's there you might as well beat him. 5. Of special interest is that you can now recruit Lu Bu into your army. He's a civilian in Kuai Ji and thankfully in your territory so he shouldn't be too difficult to recruit. ****************************************************************************** IV. Just defeat Li Jue to win this scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ War Council (2-1) (wei_2-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Lu Bu within the time given or (Leads to 3-2) Wipe out Yuan Shu within the time given (Leads to 3-1) Turns: 8 Turns 1. You have two choices to make here. Just attack and wipe out whoever you decide to. 2. I suggest waiting a few turns before wiping out anybody. This will give you time to recruit people. 3. Also, if you do attack Lu Bu, be sure to finish Lu Bu himself off with at least a 3-hit combo to recieve his Crescent item. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yuan Shu the Pretender (3-1) (wei_3-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Lu Bu within the time given (Leads to 4-1) Turns: 20 Turns 1. Nothing hard here. Just attack Lu Bu's capital anytime you wish. I suggest putting an army at Xiao Pei and let Lu Bu attack you. This is a pretty easy way of leveling up your characters. You'll also probably want to station another army at Shou Chun to stop Lu Bu from going elsewhere. 2. You can also wipe out Zhang Xiu at this point. Not necessary, but you might as well. If nothing but to get Jia Xu from him, a pretty decent strategist. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fate of the Beast (3-2) (wei_3-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Yuan Shu and Zhang Xiu within the time given (Leads to 4-2) Turns: 10 Turns 1. This scenario is pretty easy. There are a lot of people that you can and should recruit. Before you finish off Yuan Shu and Zhang Xiu recruit everyone you can. Be sure to at least recruit guys friends with Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei. Also be sure to remove Guan Yu's Blue Dragon item. 2. You will also want an army at Jiao and at Xu Chang for defense, mostly from Yuan Shu's forces. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Beast Departs (4-1) (wei_4-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy one of the following within the time give: Chen Liu, Pu Yang, Ping Yuan, He Nei, or Jin Yang or (Leads to 5-1 or 5-2) Negotiate a truce with Yuan Shao within the time given (Leads to 5-3) Turns: 6 Turns 1. On just about every turn Yuan Shao will send a diplomat to call a truce with you. If you want accept it will end the scenario and lead you to the 5-3 path, otherwise decline the truce. 2. If you take over one of Yuan Shao's cities it will lead you to the 5-2 path. 3. Also if you beat Cao Cao's scenario at least once, when you take over one of the required cities, you'll end up going to the 5-1 path. *****Note***** The 5-1 path requires you to beat Cao Cao's scenario at least once. I have some confusion over getting the 5-2 path. I know that if it is your first time through Cao Cao's scenario and if you take over one of the cities you'll head towards the 5-2 path. I am however having trouble going to the 5-2 path after you beat the game with Cao Cao at least once. Everything I've tried leads to the 5-1 path. If anyone has any concrete way of getting the 5-2 path after beating the game with Cao Cao at least once, please e-mail the details. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Heroes (4-2) (wei_4-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Liu Bei within the time given (Leads to 5-4) Turns: 8 Turns 1. If you recruited everyone that you could in the previous scenario this scenario will be very simple. Liu Bei will have no one on his side but Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, if you didn't recruit everyone in your general area he recruits some of the people near him, making it slightly more difficult. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liu Bei's Betrayl (5-1) (wei_5-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Guan Du within the time given or (Leads to 7-2) Ally with Liu Bei within the time given (Leads to 7-1) Turns: 5 Turns 1. You can either ally with Liu Bei or beat Liu Bei and take Guan Du, either way will end the scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liu Bei at Guan Du (5-2) (wei_5-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Guan Du within the time given (Leads to 7-2) Turns: 5 Turns 1. Simple beat Liu Bei and take Guan Du to win this scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Truce (5-3) (wei_5-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Xiang Yang, Jiang Ling, Jiang Xia, Wan, and Xin Ye within the time given. (Leads to 8-3) Turns: 15 Turns 1. This scenario is pretty straightforward. Just keep marching your forces towards the required cities to complete this scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Noble Guan Yu (5-4) (wei_5-4) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy one of the following within the time given: Guan Du, Pu Yang, Ping Yuan, He Nei, or Jin Yang or (Leads to 6-2) Negotiate a truce with Yuan Shao within the time given (Leads to 6-1) Turns: 6 Turns 1. On the 2nd turn and on Yuan Shao will send an envoy to call a truce. If you accept it will end the scenario. Otherwise decline the offer every turn. 2. Otherwise attack and capture any of Yuan Shao's cities to end the scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Truce (6-1) (wei_6-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Wan and Xin Ye within the time given (Leads to 7-3) Turns: 5 Turns 1. A simple scenario. Just take over the two required cities, or one in this case. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Farwell, Guan Yu (6-2) (wei_6-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Ye within the time given (Leads to 7-4) Turns: 10 Turns 1. Simply occupy Ye to win this scenario. Hopefully you managed to capture a few of Yuan Shao's officers in the last scenario to make this one even easier. Also if you didn't in the last scenario, be sure to beat Yuan Shao with a 3-hit combo to get his item. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Beast's Plan (7-1) (wei_7-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Yuan Tan within the time given (Leads to 8-1) Turns: 15 Turns 1. This scenario is pretty easy. Just wipe out Yuan Tan to move onto the next scenario. Yuan Tan is pretty aggressive, attacked nearly every turn but its another easy way of leveling up your guys. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Deathbed (7-2) (wei_7-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Yuan Tan within the time given (Leads to 8-2) Turns: 10 Turns 1. As soon as you declare war on Yuan Tan this scenario ends. Yuan Tan won't strike at you so you can use this time to recruit a few people. Otherwise just take over one of Yuan Tan's cities to end this scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Farwell, Guan Yu (7-3) (wei_7-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Xiang Yang, Jiang Ling, and Jiang Xia within the time given (Leads to 8-3) Turns: 12 Turns 1. A straightforward scenario. Liu Biao and his men shouldn't pose too much of a problem for you. You will probably want to capture Gan Ning and Pang Tong from him if you already haven't in the previous scenario. Just capture the three cities to proceed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Deathbed (7-4) (wei_7-4) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Yuan Tan within the time given (Leads to 9-1) Turns: 15 Turns 1. If you've managed to capture many of Yuan Shao/Tan's officers at this point this scenario should be very easy. Yuan Tan doesn't pose too much of a threat so if you still need to recruit guys now is the time to do it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Power (8-1) (wei_8-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Lu Bu within the time given. (Leads to 10-1) Turns: 10 Turns 1. A slightly more difficult scenario than the last, considering who your opponent is, and some of the guys under him. If you have a pretty strong army you should have no trouble beating Lu Bu. You should note that the longer you take to defeat Lu Bu the more he'll start recruiting Liu Biao's men making him more difficult than he should be. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Farwell, Guan Yu (8-2) (wei_8-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Yuan Tan within the time given (Leads to 9-1) Turns: 15 Turns 1. This should be very easy at this point. Just wipe out Yuan Tan to proceed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Two Strategists (8-3) (wei_8-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Ye within the time given or (Leads to 10-3) Occupy Chang Sha within the time given (Leads to 10-2) Turns: 12 Turns 1. Your given two choices here. Either head for Chang Sha or Ye. 2. Regardless of whether you take Ye or Chang Sha you should declare war on Yuan Shao. Once you declare war just hang around the border and let him attack, or attack him and capture all his officers. Once you've fought Yuan Shao enough times just complete whichever objective you want to. 3. You'll also want a defensive force at Jiang Xia to defend against Sun Ce's attacks. You'll also want to be wary of Sun Ce's army attacking from Shou Chun. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Guo Jia's Death (9-1) (wei_9-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Liu Bei within the time given (Leads to 10-4) Turns: 3 Turns 1. Attack and beat Liu Bei to end this scenario. 2. If you want you can send another force to attack the Southern Jing cities. You'll only be able to get two of the leaders, Han Xuan's has the best officers under him, Huang Zhong and Wei Yan, so be sure to capture both of them. You'll also only be able to get either Liu Du or Zhao Fan's men after Han Xuan is beaten. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Greed (10-1) (wei_10-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Defend all your bases for the given time (Leads to 12-1) Turns: 1 Turn 1. There really isn't anything that you can do here. You can simply end your turn to move onto the next scenario. If you've been using some of the Shu guys: Liu Bei, Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, Zhuge Liang, Pang Tong, Xu Shu, and Zhao Yun and have some items on them, I highly suggest you take it off them now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Guo Jia at Chi Bi (10-2) (wei_10-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Chang Sha, Gui Yang, Ling Ling and Wu Ling within the time given (Leads to 12-2) Turns: 10 Turns 1. Another straightforward scenario. Just take over the 4 cities to proceed. You may also want to send an army to protect Jiang Xia, as the computer tends to send another army in that direction. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ North and South (10-3) (wei_10-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Bei Ping within the time given (Leads to 11-1) Turns: 12 Turns 1. At this point Yuan Tan should pose little to no threat to you. Just march towards Bei Ping and conquer it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ South or East? (10-4) (wei_10-4) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Lu Kou within the time given or (Leads to 11-3) Wipe out Ma Teng within the time given (Leads to 11-2) Turns: 10 Turns 1. Either send a force to defeat Ma Teng or send a force to occupy Lu Kou. 2. Regardless of which you decide, you'll want to attack Sun Quan's forces. Near Shou Chun, close to Sun Quan's capital, Sun Quan will send a force out around there but will not attack. You should attack whatever forces go there and capture his officers. You'll probably want a force near Lu Kou if you decide to do this, and trying to beat Ma Teng. 3. If you decide to attak Ma Teng be wary of the fact that Ma Teng's capital is more than 4 spaces away from the nearest city. Usually, you'll have to face Ma Teng without being able to recover, so try not to take too much damage the first time around. 4. You should also defeat the Southern Jing leaders and recruit them and their men. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rise of Wu (11-1) (wei_11-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 13-3) Turns: 20 Turns 1. All you need to do is take over Cheng Du to beat this scenario. I suggest having one army do the fighting, or two, and have another follow behind to take over the cities. 2. Sun Quan tends to send a unit or two near Shou Chun however he will not attack. You should again use this chance to attack the forces that he sends and capture and level up your guys while your at it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Villian (11-2) (wei_11-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 13-3) Turns: 20 Turns 1. All you need to do is take over Cheng Du to beat this scenario. I suggest having one army do the fighting, or two, and have another follow behind to take over the cities. 2. Like in the last scenario, Sun Quan tends to send a unit near Shou Chun, but like last time won't attack. You should again use this chance to attack and capture and level up your guys while your at it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Farwell, Guan Yu (11-3) (wei_11-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Retake Shou Chun within the time given (Leads to 12-3) Turns: 3 Turns 1. Just take Shou Chun to end this scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zhuge Liang's Shadow (12-1) (wei_12-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Jian Ye within the time given (Leads to 13-1) Turns: 20 Turns 1. Your goal is to take Jian Ye, the quickest way is to attack the city near the border and attack Jian Ye from there. You could also head from Jing to attack from the side. 2. You can also take over the Southern Jing Cities if you wish. Its not required though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Victory at Chi Bi (12-2) (wei_12-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Jian Ye within the time given (Leads to Turns: 20 Turns 1. Depending on how many/if any of the Wu guys you captured in the previous scenario will make this scenario a lot easier. If you managed to capture everyone that was capturable, by the time you get to this scenario most of the Wu armies consist of less than 2 officers per army. Course as you beat the smaller armies they'll start regrouping into 4 officers per army, but if you attack every turn you should be able to wipe them out easily and before they fully heal. 2. I suggest just heading in a straight path towards Jian Ye, getting there from Lu Jiang and then to Ru Xu Kou. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ma Chao's Revolt (12-3) (wei_12-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Ma hao within the time given (Leads to 13-4) Turns: 15 Turns 1. Ma Chao tends to stay near his captial, even as you march forward towards his, so you don't have to worry about driving him back or anything. Be warned that due to Ma Chao's capital being far enough away from the nearest city you will have to fight Ma Chao at least once without healing so be careful. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Heroes Divided (13-1) (wei_13-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Liu Bei, Sima Yi, and Liu Zhang within the time given. (Leads to 15-1) Turns: 60 Turns 1. Despite the huge number of turns this scenario and what you have to complete this isn't as hard as one would think. Depending on who you've been using up until now, you more than likely will have to reform your armies. 2. Sima Yi has the largest amount of land, but has very few men on his side, and the guys he does have tend to be scattered in armies consisting of 2 guys or less. A realtively powerful army should be able to deal with Sima Yi. You'll also probably want to create a few armies just to take over Sima Yi's territory. 3. Liu Bei will tend to come towards the Northern Jing area, so you will probably want your strongest force over there to guard it from Liu Bei's attack and to push towards his territory. 4. Liu Zhang is a minor nusiance in this scenario, and you can pretty much use whoever you have left to finish him off. 5. Also, if you did not beat the Southern Jing leaders in the last scenario you will have to in this scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Greatness or Destiny? (13-2) (wei_13-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Xu Chang, Luo Yang, Pu Yang, Ye, Xia Pi, Ru Nan, Bo Hai and Jin Yang within the time given. (Leads to 15-2) Turns: 30 Turns 1. For this scenario you pretty much have to take over all of Yuan Shao's cities. You'll probably want a few armies to do this, your strongest to do the attacking and driving the enemy back, and another to take over the cities from behind. 2. Also, depending on how close your cities are to Liu Zhang and Ma Teng, (I had a few cities near their capital), they will attack and declare war on you. If you don't have any cities near them they tend to stay near their own capital and leave you alone. Beat them if you want, and Zhang Lu as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liu Bei flees to Wu (13-3) (wei_13-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Jian Ye within the time given (Leads to 15-3) Turns: 30 Turns 1. The final scenario, and you pretty much have to wipe out Wu at this point. At this point you should have a powerful army as well as many officers to fall back on if necessary, so it shouldn't be to hard to take Jian Ye. 2. Also, if you've been capturing as many of the Wu officers that you can, this scenario should be pretty simple. If you captured all of Wu's capturable people, you'll end up seeing forces no greater than 2 officers per army. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To Han Zhong (13-4) (wei_13-4) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Han Zhong within the time given (Leads to 14-1) Turns: 8 Turns 1. Zhang Lu shouldn't pose a problem to you. He has very few officers, and he tends to attack you a few times, giving you an opportunity to take his officers. Just beware of when trying to take Han Zhong, Liu Bei will send an army to help Zhang Lu. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Guan Yu comes North (14-1) (wei_14-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Wan, Xin Ye, and Shang Yong within the time given (Leads to 15-4) Turns: 10 Turns 1. This is the final scenario, and a pretty easy one at that. The three cities need to be taken over, and at this point you should be strong enough to do it pretty easily. ****************************************************************************** V. Just defeat Cao Ren to win this scenario. I suggest capturing Yue Jin and Li Dian as well. Heck restart if you can't get both of them, you'll need every officer you can get, especially in the early stages of Liu Bei's campaign. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lu Bu, Honored Guest (2-1) (shu_2-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objective: Ally with Lu Bu within the time given or (Leads to 3-1) Fight Lu Bu within the time given (Leads to 3-3) Do not ally or fight with Lu Bu (Leads to 3-2) Turns: 5 Turns 1. For Liu Bei's early scenarios, it is very important to not only recruit everyone that you can, but to capture everyone that you can. Liu Bei is pretty short-handed in the first few scenarios, so the more people you can recruit/capture the easier time you'll have in the later scenarios. 2. I suggest you remove Guan Yu's item, Blue Dragon, and give it to someone else. 3. Create a new army, hopefully from the guys you captured in the last scenario and take over the vacant city. 4. You have three options to complete this scenario, ally with Lu Bu, attack Lu Bu, or do neither. It should be noted that if you plan on allying with Lu Bu give your envoy ample time to reach Lu Bu's capital, at least on turn three or earlier. An envoy needs at least two turns, one to get to the capital and another to actually propose an alliance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lu Bu, Ally (3-1) (shu_3-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objective: Wipe out Yuan Shu within the time given (Leads to 4-1) Turns: 12 Turns 1. First take Liu Bei out of your army and send him towards Xin Ye to recruit Xu Shu (who shows up after your second turn) and then send Liu Bei to recruit Zhao Yun and Gongsun Zan. 2. Next, move both of you armies to Jiao and declare war on Yuan Shu. If you don't attack Yuan Shu, Lu Bu will and will take over all of Yuan Shu's cities but his capital. You will want to take over the cities so that you can form two full armies. 3. Once you've occupied Jiao, move both of your armies to Ru Nan. After that occupy Shou Chun and wait until the final turn to wipe out Yuan Shu. This gives you a chance of recruiting more people. Also create a third army. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lu Bu's Invasion (3-2) (shu_3-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objective: Wipe out Lu Bu within the time given (Leads to 4-2) Turns: 8 Turns 1. First thing you should do is send both of your armies to Xiao Pei. Lu Bu will start attacking you at this point so be sure that you capture his guys and take his Crescent item by finishing off Lu Bu with a 3 hit or more combo. 2. Once you've taken Xiao Pei move on to Lu and wait there. Take Liu Bei out of your army and make him an envoy. First send him to recruit Xu Shu, and then Zhao Yun and Gongsun Zan. Other worthwhile officers to recruit are Chen Gui and Liao Hua. 3. Cao Cao will wipe out Yuan Shu at one point. When Yuan Shu is wiped out, create a third army and send them to claim Yuan Shu's territory. Once you've claimed the territory as yours fill that third army with as many officers as you can. This will be helpful in the next scenario. Also recruit Yuan Shu and his men. 4. On your final turn attack Lu Bu's capital and finish him off. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lu Bu'S Assault (3-3) (shu_3-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objective: Wipe out Lu Bu within the time given (Leads to 4-2) Turns: 8 Turns Turn 1: 1. First thing you should do is to take Lu from Lu Bu. 2. You should also start recruiting anyone you can. Xu Shu, who appears in Xin Ye, Liu Biao's territory, and Zhao Yun should be your top priority. Xu Shu doesn't appear until the 2nd turn, but you can send Liu Bei as an envoy on your first turn to start recruiting him. I would also suggest having Zhou Cang recruit Liao Hua. 3. Create a third army, if you can't, take over any one of the cities that should be vacant near your capital. When Cao Cao finishes off Yuan Shu, have that army capture those cities. Once you've done that fill that army with some officers. This will be useful in the next scenario. 4. Lu Bu should attack you a few times at Lu, use this chance to capture his men, gain some levels, and to take Lu Bu's Crescent item. You will at least want to capture Zhang Liao, Gao Shun, and Chen Gong; three of Lu Bu's better officers, in my opinion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lu Bu, Crazed Tiger (4-1) (shu_4-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objective: Occupy Xin Pe within the time given (Leads to 5-1) Turns: 4 Turns 1. Move both your armies to Xin Pe and a spy if you got one. Try to capture as many guys as you can as well as finishing off Lu Bu with a 3-hit combo to get his Crescent item. 2. If you created that third army in the last scenario use them to re-occupy Yuan Shu's former cities. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Guan Yu's Escape (4-2) (shu_4-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objective: Stop Cao Cao's movement South within the time given (Leasd to 5-2) Turns: 2 Turns 1. Move both of your armies to Wan to occupy it. Cao Cao will also attack you here. Cao Cao's forces are probably somewhat stronger than you at this point, but with some careful planning you should be able to beat Cao Cao, capture his officers, and take his item, Meng De, with a 3-hit or more combo. 2. If you created that 3rd army in the last scenario use them to occupy Yong An. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lu Bu, Once Aagain (5-1) (shu_5-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objective: Ally with Lu Bu and occupy Xu Chang within the time given (Leads to 6-1) Recapture Wan within the time given (Leads to 6-2) Turns: 6 Turns 1. If you want to ally with Lu Bu I suggest doing it on the first turn. This will also help in recruiting men around you. Otherwise wait a few turns to recruit more men and take over Wan. Be sure to take as many of Lu Bu's men as you can. If you do it will greatly help in the next scenario. 2. If you do decide to attack Cao Cao, wait until the final turn before attacking Xu Chang. Cao Cao's forces will be weaker due to him attacking Yuan Shao, making Cao Cao very easy to beat. If you do take this route occupy the vacant cities around you and take over Xia Pei and Xiao Pei on the second to last turn. After you've done this fill or create a third army and a fourth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jing in Turmoil (5-2) (shu_5-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objective: Stop Cao Cao's movement South within the time given (Leads to 6-4) Declare war on Liu Zong (Leads to 6-3) Turns: 2 Turns 1. First move your strongest army to Wan to hold off Cao Cao. 2. With your third army (if you have one), you can either just let them sit back until your turns are over, or have them take over Shang Yong. You can try to take Xiang Yang, but it might be a bit difficult to do. If you do take over Xiang Yang, it will be a big help in the next scenario. As an alternative, if you have Wan under your control you can just send your two armies and attack Xiang Yang. You'll lose Wan, but beating Liu Zong will be much easier this way, and helpful if you don't have a third army. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lu Bu at the Court (6-1) (shu_6-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objective: Occupy Chang Sha, Wu Ling, Ling Ling, and Gui Yang within the time given (Leads to 8-1) Occupy Chang Sha, Wu Ling, Ling Ling, and Gui Yang within the time given AND recruit Zhuge Liang (Leads to 8-2) Turns: 10 Turns 1. Zhuge Liang appears as a civilian in this scenario and recruiting him will effect the next scenario you head to. Recruiting him will bring you to the 8-2 route while just completing the objectives will bring you to the 8-1 route. If you do recruit Zhuge Liang do it quickly, he tends to get recruited by someone else if you don't. 2. Beating the southern Jing leaders shouldn't pose to much of a problem. I suggest defeating three of the leaders, and saving the final leader for your final turn. This should give you plenty of time to recruit and occupy the two cities just below the objective cities. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lu Bu and Cao Cao (6-2) (shu_6-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Shang Yong, Xiang Yang, Jiang Ling, and Jiang Xia within the time given (Leads to 7-1) Turns: 10 Turns 1. If you created a third army in the previous scenarios, you should be in pretty good shape for this scenario. If you also took as many of Lu Bu's men as you could in the previous scenario this will make the scenario even easier. 2. You will want to place a force at Wan to deal with Cao Cao's forces. Your strongest armies should go up against Cao Cao. Be sure to capture as many of Cao Cao's men as you can as well as finishing Cao Cao once with a 3-hit or more combo. 3. With your third army attack Xiang Yang. You third army may be at a disadvantage number wise, but if you do some careful planning, and took Lu Bu's men in the previous scenario, you should be able to take Xiang Yang with few problems. Once you've taken Xiang Yang immediately attack Jiang Ling to finish off Lu Bu. When you take Jiang Ling Lu Bu will be finished and you can easily recruit all his men. LEAVE Shang Yong or Jiang Xia for last, so that you can capture more of Cao Cao's men. 4. If you don't have a third army you will want to have your armies attack Lu Bu on the first turn. Take Xiang Yang and you should be able to create another army, send them to Jiang Ling to finish Lu Bu's forces. Cao Cao will also take over Wan and head towards Xin Ye, so you'll want your strongest army to repel Cao Cao. 5. Also be sure to occupy Yong An. 6. One final note, in the next scenario one of the objectives is taking over the Southern Jing cities. For whatever reason you aren't given enough time to take them over, so depending on which path you want to go to in the 7-1 scenario start taking over all of the Jing cities or just leave them be. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Battle for Jing (6-3) (shu_6-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objective: Occupy Shang Yong, Xiang Yang, Jiang Ling, and Jiang Xia within the time given. (Leads to 7-2) Turns: 12 Turns 1. The first thing you want to do is to place your strongest army at Wan to fight off Cao Cao's forces. It should also be noted that when Cao Cao's forces attack and you do not completely defeat everyone, or at least the officers with the flag icon under their name the defeated army will be put in Nan Mi. If this happens that army will try to occupy Shang Yong or continually attack you at Wan, depending on which cities you have. You should move your army from Wan to Nan Mi and finish off the rest of their forces then move them back to Wan. 2. If your bold, or strong enough to do so, you can attack Cao Cao's forces that leave his capital but never actually attack you at Wan. Doing this gives you a great opportunity to capture more of his men. 3. The next thing you'll want to do is strike Xiang Yang. If you took it over in the last scenario, you should now be able to fill that third army and create another. If you didn't just work on defeating the leader. Once you've taken Xiang Yang head straight for Jiang Ling to finish off Liu Zong. Once you've finished off Liu Zong occupy Shang Yong and leave an army there to defend it. You should leave Jiang Xia for last, this way you can continue to battle Cao Cao's forces and capture his men. 4. You can also start attacking the Southern Jing cities here if you wish. It will be helpful depending on which route you wish to take. Just be sure that if you do attack the Southern Jing cities, that that is the route you want to go to. See The Greater Good (7-2) for more details about it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sleeping Dragon (6-4) (shu_6-4) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Arrive at Xiang Yang (you may abandon the capital) within the time given (Leads to 7-3) Turns: 10 Turns 1. You are pincered on two side from Cao Cao's forces, however Cao Cao's forces at Xiang Yang and Jiang Ling just sit there, so you don't have to worry about them until you attack Xiang Yang. 2. You can place your forces at Wan and continue to let Cao Cao attack you and capture more of his men. This tends to be quite easy as Cao Cao's stronger men are defending Xu Chang and Xiang Yang, and he usually sends weaker forces against you, making for some easy captures. 3. You should also begin recruiting men around you, especially those at Xiang Yang, most noteably Gan Ning an overall good officer and Kuai Lang an officer you can deploy as a spy unit. 4. Also, occupy some of the surrounding cities. This should help you in creating another army or placing more in a current army that is not filled with four officers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jing's Star of Hope (7-1) (shu_7-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Stop Cao Cao's movement South within the time given (Leads to 8-4) or stop Cao Cao's movement South and take the Southern Jing cities (Leads to 8-3) Turns: 4 Turns 1. Move your strongest force to Wan to guard against Cao Cao's attacks. Again be sure to capture as many of Cao Cao's men as you can. 2. If you want to go the the 8-3 path you will have to take over the Southern Jing cities. It is very difficult to take over the four Southern Jing cities, mostly due to the time restraint, but to take over all the cities you will want to send two, three, or more armies to defeat all of the leaders. You will need to split them up and attack all of them at once after defeating Han Xuan. You could have also done what I advised and took over some or all of the Southern Jing cities in the previous scenario. *****Note***** If you have not beated Liu Bei's scenario at least once you'll go to the 8-4 path. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Greater Good (7-2) (shu_7-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objective: Stop Cao Cao's movement South withing the time given and/or (Leads to 8-5) Occupy Chang Sha, Gui Yang, Ling Ling, and Wu Ling (Leads to 8-6) Turns: 6 Turns 1. Cao Cao will continue to attack you once again so place your strongest armies in Wan to repel him. It should also be noted that when Cao Cao's forces attack and you do not completely defeat everyone, or at least the officers with the flag icon under their name the defeated army will be put in Nan Mi. If this happens that army will try to occupy Shang Yong. You should move your army from Wan to Nan Mi and finish off the rest of their forces then move them back to Wan or have another force defending Shang Yong. 2. You can also occupy the Southern Jing cities. If you do it will lead you towards one path, and if you don't it will take you torwards another. You're given just enough time to take over the four cities, so if you do plan on taking them over, start sending a few armies there on your first turn. *****Note***** If you did not complete Liu Bei's scenario at least once you'll go to the 8-5 route. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zhuge Liang in Wu (7-3) (shu_7-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Arrive at Jiang Xia (you may abandon the capital) within the time given (Leads to 8-7) Turns 6 Turns 1. You'll be pincered once again by Cao Cao's forces, but for the first turn you will not have to worry about Cao Cao's forces above you. Send your armies to attack the forces below you and try to wipe them all out in the first battle. If you can you'll have a safe and easy passage to Jiang Xia. 2. Once you've beaten the forces in the South you can directly take Jiang Xia. If you want you can send an army to attack Cao Cao's forces in the north to continue capturing more of his men. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sun Li's Sorrow (8-1) (shu_8-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Sun Ce's frontline cities within the time given (Leads to 11-1) Turns: 8 Turns 1. Occupy any of the glowing cities to complete this scenario. It will help if you occupy all three cities, this way you'll more chances to capture Wu's officers and making the next scenario easier. 2. Place a force near your borders and Cao Cao to halt any attack from Cao Cao. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zhuge Liang's Plan (8-2) (shu_8-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Stop Sun Ce's advance into Jing within the time given (Leads to 10-1) or Ally with Sun Ce and Ma Chao (Leads to 10-2) Turns: 7 Turns 1. You must ally with both leaders in order to move to the 10-2 scenario. 2. Place a force near your borders and Cao Cao to halt any attack from Cao Cao. Once you've halted the attack take over Xin Ye, Wan, and Shang Yong. 3. If you don't plan on allying with Sun Ce and Ma Chao just wait for all your turns to end. Sun Ce doesn't attack unless you attack him, but if your not going to ally with him you may as well attack him and attempt to capture his officers while your at it. *****Note***** If you did not complete Liu Bei's scenario at least once you'll go to the 10-1 path. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zhuge Liang and Liu Bei (8-3) (shu_8-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Ally with Ma Chao within the time given or (Leads to 10-2) Stop Cao Cao's movement South within the time given (Leads to 10-3) Turns: 5 Turns 1. If you want to ally with Ma Chao start sending an envoy to Ma Chao's capital on your first turn. 2. Send a force to Wan to defend from Cao Cao's attack and another force to Shang Yong in case you do not completely defeat Cao Cao's forces when he attacks you at Wan. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zhuge Liang and Liu Bei (8-4) (shu_8-4) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 11-4) Turns: 10 Turns 1. You'll want a force near Wu Ling to stop Liu Zhang's forces from advancing. 2. Send another force to Cheng Du to take it over. You may want to hold off taking Cheng Du until you occupy the surrounding cities. Also send another army to occupy the cities below Southern Jing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liu Bei, Wu, and Shu (8-5) (shu_8-5) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objective: Occupy Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 11-4) Turns: 10 Turns 1. After fighting Cao Cao so often Liu Zhang should be child's play. You shouldn't have trouble beating his forces. You'll probably want to make one or two more armies to recover the vacant cities around Liu Zhang. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zhuge Liang's Plan (8-6) (shu_8-6) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objective: Ally with Ma Chao within the time given or (Leads to 10-2) Stop Cao Cao's movement South within the time given (Leads to 10-3) Turns: 5 Turns 1. Move your two strongest army to Wan and hold your position there. Again use this chance to capture more of Cao Cao's men. 2. Move your two secondary army to Shang Yong to stand guard in case you do not defeat all of Cao Cao's men. 3. If you want to ally with Ma Chao send an envoy on your first turn and continue to do so until you reach his capital. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cao Cao's fate (8-7) (shu_8-7) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Jiang Xia, Jiang Ling, Xiang Yang, Chang Sha, Wu Ling, Ling Ling, and Gui Yang within the time given (Leads to 9-1) Turns: 16 Turns 1. This is a pretty straightforward scenario and probably a lot easier than some of the previous ones. Use your forces to first take Jiang Ling and Xiang Yang from Cao Cao. Once you've taken that you can easily wipe out the four southern cities. You can also re-claim Wan and Xin Ye if you wish. 2. Also, be sure to occupy the two vacant cities below the four southern target cities. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liu Bei and Shu (9-1) (shu_9-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Wipe out Zhang Lu within the time given (Leads to 10-4) Turns: 3 Turns 1. Attack Zhang Lu at his current position and be sure to take at least one of his men. Once you've finished the battle the scenario will end. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The War for the Seal (10-1) (shu_10-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Sun Ce's frontline cities within the time given (Leads to 11-1) Turns: 8 Turns 1. You need to take over any one of Sun Ce's frontline cities in order to complete this scenario. First send your strongest army to take over Wu Chang. This is where you normally fight Sun Ce, so be sure to beat Sun Ce with at least a 3-hit combo to get his Sun Blade item. Also be sure to capture as many of his officers as you can. 2. The other two cities are typically guarded by just one army unit and can be taken much easier. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Xi Liang - Jing Alliance (10-2) (shu_10-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Luo Yang, Xin Ye, Wan, and Chang An within the time given (Leads to 11-3) or Occupy the required cities and have an alliance with Wu (Leads to 11-2) Turns: 12 Turns 1. If you've managed to keep Cao Cao at bay up to this point you should have Wan and Xin Ye under your control. You can send a force to guard Wan from attacks by Cao Cao or attack Cao Cao's forces that stray from his capital. 2. You will then want to send another force to take Luo Yang and Chang An. Ma Chao will attempt to help you, but you're better off fighting Cao Cao's forces yourself. Ma Chao does weaken the forces at Luo Yang so you'll probably want him to attack them first to weaken their forces their. 3. You can also have another force go and defeat Zhang Lu at this point. 4. If you came from the 8-2 path you will head torwards the 11-2 path. If you came from any other path you'll head to the 11-3 path after completing the objectives. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sun Li's arrival (10-3) (shu_10-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 11-4) Turns: 10 Turns 1. Liu Zhang acquires Ma Chao and his men in this scenario making him pretty strong, but other than that he isn't too difficult. You will want to have an army march from your capital to Yong An and onto Cheng Du. 2. Have a second force come from Southern Jing to Wu Ling to defend from Liu Zhang's advances. Once you've beaten his forces in this two places, just keep marching your forces towards Cheng Du. 3. You may want to create a few more armies to occupy the cities around Liu Zhang as you are fighting him. 4. You can also attack Cao Cao at Bo Wang if you wish. Cao Cao will not attack you, so you don't have to worry about any attacks from him. But it gives you a chance to level up your guys some more and capture his men. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ War with Liu Zhang (10-4) (shu_10-4) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 11-5) Turns: 10 Turns 1. Liu Zhang doesn't pose that much of a threat to you at this point. You will probably want to create a few additional armies to occupy the surrounding cities while another force attacks Liu Zhang. 2. Also be sure to recruit Ma Chao and his men. 3. And on a final note, DO NOT RECRUIT PANG TONG JUST YET! Depending on which route you wish to head too, having recruited or not recruited Pang Tong will determine which route you head too in the next scenario. If you do want to recruit him make sure that is the route you want to go to. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ma Chao's defeat (11-1) (shu_11-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Jian Ye within the time given (Leads to 12-1) Turns: 12 Turns 1. Use your strongest armies to take Jian Ye. You may want to recruit Ma Chao and his men before you take Jian Ye. You may also want to create a few additional armies to box in Sun Ce's forces and take his cities while your at it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ma Chao's return (11-2) (shu_11-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 12-2) Turns: 10 Turns 1. You shouldn't have much trouble taking Cheng Du. Just march your strongest army torwards Cheng Du and take it over. 2. You should recruit Ma Chao's men before you take over Cheng Du. They are all strong generals, and will be helpful in the next scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ma Chao's return (11-3) (shu_11-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 12-2) Turns: 10 Turns 1. You shouldn't have much trouble taking Cheng Du. Just march your strongest army torwards Cheng Du and take it over. 2. You should recruit Ma Chao's men before you take over Cheng Du. They are all strong generals, and will be helpful in the next scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sun Li's Departure (11-4) (shu_11-4) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Han Zhong within the time given (Leads to 12-5) or recruit Pang Tong and take Han Zhong (Leads to 12-3) Turns: 4 Turns 1. If you recruit Pang Tong you will head towards the 12-3 path. If you don't you'll head for the 12-5 path. Zhuge Liang is friends with Pang Tong so if you want to recruit him send him or Fa Zheng, who you should have after beating Liu Zhong. 2. After that, take Han Zhong with or without recuriting Pang Tong. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Three Kingdoms (11-5) (shu_11-5) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Han Zhong within the time given (Leads to 12-6) Occupy Han Zhong within the time given with Pang Tong (Leads to 12-4) Turns: 10 Turns 1. This scenario only requires you to occupy Han Zhong, but depending on whether or not you have Pang Tong on your side determines which path you'll eventually take. Hopefully you did not recruit Pang Tong in the previous scenario, unless of course that is the path you wanted to take. You'll have plenty of time here so use it to recruit more people if you already haven't done so. 2. Go and send another army to occupy Ma Chao's former cities. 3. This is optional, but is a pretty good way of capturing more of Cao Cao's men. Send a force towards Wan and wait for Cao Cao to move his forces to Bo Wang, away from his capital. Once they move there move your forces from Wan to Bo Wang and attack Cao Cao, retreating back to Wan after the battle is over. Cao Cao's uncapturable officers tend to be guarding Han Zhong so most of the men he places to guard Xu Chang are capturable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sun Li's Dilemma (12-1) (shu_12-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Cheng Du within the time given (Leads to 14-1) Turns: 20 Turns 1. In this scenario you will only have to deal with Cao Cao. At this point Cao Cao has a lot of strong officers on his side, making him quite difficult. You can only attack Cheng Du from the southern Jing cities, as the Wu forces block any other path to Cheng Du. You won't fight the Wu forces in this scenario. 2. You will also want to bring a few armies to guard the southern Jing area. Some of Cao Cao's forces tend to break through, and if not fully defeated are put in the southern Jing region when defeated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liu Bei's Resolve (12-2) (shu_12-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Jian Ye, Xu Chang, Ye, and Han Zhong within the time given (Leads to 14-2) Turns: 40 Turns 1. If you didn't take Han Zhong in the previous scenario send an army to take it. A realtively powerful army should be enough to take it over. 2. Four armies should be enough to wipe out Cao Cao and Sun Quan, but I suggest having eight. Send four against Cao Cao and four against Sun Quan, using two armies for fighting and the other two either as backup or to take over their land and surround them. 3. You will also want to split up your forces to stop any advances made by Sun Quan and Cao Cao. Send one army towards Wan, as that city will probably fall to Cao Cao. From there Cao Cao normally heads to Wei shing, heading for Han Zhong, so have another army coming from Han Zhong to block the enemy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ King of Han Zhong (12-3) (shu_12-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Defend Xiang Yang within the time given (Leads to 13-1) Turns: 3 Turns 1. Send an army, along with some spies to Xiang Yang to help Guan Yu's forces defend it. Unless you want to send Guan Yu to Wan to stop Cao Cao's forces, just sit tight at Xiang Yang until your last turn. By then your second army will be able to help you fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ King of Han Zhong (12-4) (shu_12-4) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Defend Xiang Yang within the time give (Leads to 13-2) Turns: 3 Turns 1. For the first two turns leave your army currently at Xiang Yang there, while sending another army from your capital to help them. On the final turn your second army should be able to help defend Xiang Yang or retake Xin Ye. You'll lose Wan in the process, but you can easily gain it back in the next scenario. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The break with Wu (12-5) (shu_12-5) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Defend Xiang Yang for the time given or (Leads to 13-4) Occupy Xin Ye and Wan within the time given (Leads to 13-3) Turns: 3 Turns 1. This scenario is pretty difficult or easy depending on which route you want to go to. 2. If you just want to defend Xiang Yang you can simply keep ending your turns until the scenario is over to end the scenario. 3. If you wish to take the two cities you must attack Xin Ye with Guan Yu's forces on the first turn. You will want to put your strongest guys as you will be outnumbered and have no spies to aid you. You will want to aim for the enemy commander and finish him off as quickly as you can. Also organize an army from your capital and send them to help Guan Yu. On the second turn I'd advise you to have Guan Yu's forces stay put at Xin Ye while continuing to move your forces towards Guan Yu. By the second turn your spies should be able to make it to Xin Ye and help out a bit. On the final turn your created army will be able to help in the battle to take Wan. Otherwise you can just continue to use Guan Yu's forces and take Wan by just defeating the commander. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The break with Wu (12-6) (shu_12-6) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Defend Xiang Yang for the time given or (Leads to 13-4) Occupy Xin Ye and Wan within the time given (Leads to 13-3) Turns: 3 Turns 1. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dance to the Heavens (13-1) (shu_13-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Chang An, Luo Yang, and Xu Chang within the time given (Leads to 14-3) Turns: 20 Turns 1. Create a few armies to attack Cao Cao from two directions. Send one force towards Luo Yang, and another towards Xu Chang. From there just keep pushing forward until you take Chang An. If you've been capturing Cao Cao's men at every chance you got he should be pretty easy to beat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Joint attack on Wei (13-2) (shu_13-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Chang An, Luo Yang, and Xu Chang within the time given (Leads to 14-3) Turns: 20 Turns 1. Create a few armies to attack Cao Cao from two directions. Send one force towards Luo Yang, and another towards Xu Chang. From there just keep pushing forward until you take Chang An. If you've been capturing Cao Cao's men at every chance you got he should be pretty easy to beat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Guan Yu's Victory (13-3) (shu_13-3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Chang An, Luo Yang, and Xu Chang within the time given (Leads to 14-3) Turns: 20 Turns 1. Create a few armies to attack Cao Cao from two directions. Send one force towards Luo Yang, and another towards Xu Chang. From there just keep pushing forward until you take Chang An. If you've been capturing Cao Cao's men at every chance you got he should be pretty easy to beat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Guan Yu, isolated (13-4) (shu_13-4) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objectives: Occupy Yong An within the time given (Leads to 14-5) or Do Nothing (Leads to 14-4) Turns: 1 Turn 1. This is the final scenario and depending on what you do you can have one of two endings. Taking Yong An will lead to the 14-5 path, while not taking it or doing nothing in this case will lead to the 14-4 path. ****************************************************************************** VI.
