By request I have added the following: - Trophies (see rewards section) - More on the Dunk Contest Version 1.1 Please, bear with me here, I don't have any experience in writing FAQ's. This is actually the very first attempt at even making a FAQ. This will cover most of the info. I'm going to try and cover almost anything (that's import anyway) in the first version. I'll (try to) add more stuff as time passes by, but it won't be much. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *************** 02 Introduction *************** Let's face it, everybody who likes basketball knows the Street. I think that most ballers started out in the streets. And that's exactly what this game is all about; Street Basketball. This is 3-on-3 Streetball. Embarrass your opponent. Trick him out of his shoes. Dunk in his face. There are no fouls, no subs, no time limit (only the shot clock), just straight up, in-yo-face-Streetball. If you played one of the previous instalments of the NBA Street Franchise, you'll know what this game is al about. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *************** 03 The Controls *************** Okay, lets start with the controls: OFFENSE: Left analog (L3) / D-button - Control your Baller X - pass Square - Random trick move Triangle - N/A Circle - Dunk/Shoot R1, R2, L1, L2 - Turbo's Right analog (R3) - Trickstick (more on that below) Press R3 - Strategy (set pick/screen) Start - Pause Special Passing moves Press L3 + X - Kick Pass Press 2 turbo's + X - Back To Papa L2 + R2 + X - Off The Footay/Bootay L2 + R1 + X - Off The Back/Chest L1 + R1 + X - Off The Heezay DEFENSE: Left analog (L3) / D-button - Control your Baller X - Switch player Square - Steal Triangle - Block/Rebound Circle - N/A R1, R2, L1, L2 - turbos Right analog (R3) - Steal/Block Press R3 - Strategy (double team) Start - Pause Special Defensive moves Any Two Turbo's + Square - Trick Counter ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **************** 04 Game Features **************** This part is all about what you'll find in the game, so this part exists from multiple Chapters. ++++++++++++++++ 04.1 Your Baller ++++++++++++++++ ========================== 04.1A - Create Your Baller ========================== This is just like it says, create yourself, your best friend, your neighbour or whoever you like. Here you can choose anything from his hairstyle to his socks. You can select height, weight and his jersey number. And you start here with deciding what kind of player you want, big and strong or small and fast? If you go with Strong and Big you'll pay more for attributes like passing and handling. And the same goes for small and fast, they'll pay more for attributes like Power, Rebounds and Blocks. ========================== 04.1b - Edit Ballers moves ========================== Your character starts with a given moveset. But as you progress throughout the game you'll acquire more moves. I'll go into the moves in the Trickbook chapter (4.2e). +++++++++++++++++ 4.2 Customisation +++++++++++++++++ =================== 4.2a Create A Court =================== Here you can create your own court from the ground up. I would strongly advise you to just use the parts that are available. Make sure that the line wear is set to fresh, than you can see the actual lines. You should save your StreetPoints for upgrading your players skills cause once you've finished all 10 Weeks in the Street Challenge all the parts will be available (and free!) for you to use. ! NOTE: You must create a court to start Street Challenge. ================= 4.2b Shoe Creator ================= Once again the same as it sounds. Here you can give your player some real nice kicks. You can select any part from the shoe to edit. ============= 4.2c V3 Store ============= Shopping time. Here you can select all the clothing you like. How bout a Throwback? It's there! Or maybe an Orlando Magic jersey? Yup, in there! You can find Jersey (old school and new school), sweatbands, caps, sweatbands, pants, socks and shoes. =============== 4.2d Buy Skills =============== The most important part of the Street Challenge. Here you can put your hard earned StreetPoints to use by upgrading your player skills. One of the most import skill in the game is the dunk rating. You should go with a taller player and give him a good dunk rating to start with. That will make the game easier when you're just starting. The second most import skill is handling, you want to score trick points too, so a player that can do tricks without losing the ball will give you points. =============== 4.2e Trick Book For instance, you'll unlock Droppin' Dimes when you unlock Dime, while Headbanger must be unlocked by succesfully performing Slip'n'Slide. =============== 4.2f Barbershop =============== Another easy one. You can change your Baller's hairstyle here. ================ 4.2g Create Team ================ Create your own team. You can choose every NBA Player in the game (and once you unlocked the Legends, you can select them to). So go ahead and assemble your Dream Team, but remember, you can only choose up to five players. *************** 05 - Game Modes *************** ========================== 5.1 Game On / Pick Up Game ========================= Pick your team, your players and court and you're ready to go. ==================== 5.2 Street Challenge ==================== Street Challenge basically consists of a ten week season. The purpose of the Street Challenge is to create a player (4.1a) and build his Reputation by playing different types of games. When you win, your Reputation grows. And when your Reputation grows more courts, more challenges and more (and often better) players will become available to you. You get presented with a variety of Different types of games, in some you'll come across NBA Superstars! And let's face it, we all want to have a Shaquille O'Neal or Tracy McGrady on our team, right? You can, select the challenge in which a NBA SuperStar participates and beat his team to select him for your own. Your main goal is to play and finish all ten weeks and beat the Street Challenge. After playing the ten weeks, you'll probably have your very own Dream Team. =================================== 5.2.1 Street Challenge Continued... =================================== In Street Challenge you'll across a variety of games, here I'll break them down one by one: Everyday games: Basically a pick up game, but with a certain rule attached: Points - play to 7, 11 or 21 Trick Points - Play to 250.000, 500.000 or 750.000 trickpoints Old School Rules - All scores are worth one point Dunks Only - Only dunks can score Long Range Only - Only long range shots can score First Gamebreaker wins - the first team to have and make a Gamebreaker wins No Gamebreakers - no Gamebreakers, just scoring NBA Scoring - NBA Scores (scores are worth 2 and 3 points) Pick the game that you think will best suit your team of the moment. Tournaments: Every once in a few days there will be a tournament. These tournaments will vary in length (from 4 to 8 games). These tournaments are great for unlocking extra stuff (especially when it's Sponsored by Reebok). Dunk Contests: See below (5.3) for more information about the Dunk Contests. Rival Challenges: If your reputation gets high enough, rivals will challenge you to various games (see everyday games above). It's up to you whether or not if you'd want to accept the challenge or not. I would strongly advise you to accept, cause if you don't your reputation will take a hit! Street League: If your Rep gets high enough, you'll get an invitation from a NBA team to join them. When you accept, you'll join the Street League. The Street League is the Cream-of-the-Crop, your baller in a NBA Team with the Pro's! Winning a Street League game increases your Rep, but missing a Street League will harm your Rep and can get you kicked of the team. But if you didn't receive a call by week 7, it's not going to happen. And you will receive messages telling you that there's a big event in town. These games usually worth checking out. Because it usaully has some NBA Stars in them or they'll boost reputation. ===================================== 5.2.3 Street League Walkthrough & help ===================================== Get Started Who should you pick to start out with? I'd say that you should mix your team. If you have a big, strong CAB (Created Baller), you should go with a player that has a good shot and the other should have great handles. Perfect examples of those players are Mario (rated 65 in handles) and Summer (great overall to begin with). You should strongly consider these two if you have a "Big Man" CAB like me. As long as you are winning games, your reputation gets better. And when your reputation is getting better, more courts will become available, and, more importantely, better players will become available. After a few wins you'll come across your first NBA Players. A few key acquisitions in the beginning are: Ronald Murray (good in Handles, Quicks, Shots and Dunks), Gerald Wallace (awesome dunker) DaJuan Wagner (awesome handles) Jason Collins (a big powerful center). And remember if there is a big event in town, you'll receive a message telling you about it. Some of the big events are: College Alumni - three guys from the same college are playing together Top Young Stars - three young superstars (LeBron, Melo, Flash etc) Traffic Jam - three big defenders (Ben Wallace, Shaquille O'Neal etc) MVP's - MVP's past and present will play here There are more special events like that, so see which you get. It's also a great way to get some stars on your team early (I had Shaq in my second week). ================ 5.3 Dunk Contest ================ The Dunk Contest is a new and one of the best features in this game. Here you get the chance to show your Slammin' skills. If you have a player with a high Dunk rating I'd suggest that you'll enter a Contest if one is available. But you shouldn't waste your time if your player can't dunk. For a good score in the Dunk Contest, I'll give you me personal strategy: First and foremost, make sure you have a high (and I mean high) dunk rating. At least 80. Then it's a piece of cake. Just do the following: - Run and take off - Immediately hold 3 or 4 (4 is better) turbo's and press any direction, - Immediately release the turbo's and push another direction. To get an even higher score you can use props. To use a props press select and up and down to select the prop you want to use. Then place it on the court and jump over it to boost your score. All the moves you can pull off during the Slam Dunk Contest are featured right here: ------------------------------------------------------------ | | | | | Hold 0 Turbo | Hold 1 Turbo | Hold 2Turbo's | | | | | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | | Down | Double Pump | Hold With Knees | Double Pump | | | | | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | | Down right | Tap Outside Foot | Tap Knee | Toss Under R-Arm | | | | | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | | Right | Statue of Liberty | Liberty Spin | Through Right Leg| | | | | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | | Up Right | Mailman | Cover Your Eyes | Tap RKnee/LKnee | | | | | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | | Up | Double Pump | Windmill | Toss Behind Back | | | | | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | | Up Left | Mailman | Cover Your Eyes | Tap RKnee/LKnee | | | | | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | | Left | Statue of Liberty | Liberty Spin | Through Left Leg | | | | | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | | Down Left | Tap Outside Foot | Tap Knee | Toss Under L-Arm | | | | | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- | | | | Hold 3 Turbo's | Hold 4 Turbo's | | | | ---------------------------------------------------- | | | Down | Behind The Back | Toss Behind Back | | | | ---------------------------------------------------- | | | Down right | Tap Inside Foot | Under Both Legs | | | | ---------------------------------------------------- | | | Right | Shoulder Roll | Bounce Off RFoot | | | | ---------------------------------------------------- | | | Up Right | Around The Head | Bounce Of RKnee | | | | ---------------------------------------------------- | | | Up | Behind The Back | Toss Behind Back | | | | ---------------------------------------------------- | | | Up Left | Behind The Back | Bounce Off LKnee | | | | ---------------------------------------------------- | | | Left | Shoulder Roll | Bounce Off LFoot | | | | ---------------------------------------------------- | | | Down Left | Tap Inside Foot | Under Both Legs | | | | ---------------------------------------------------- ************ 06 - Rewards ************ You can unlock Street Legends, NBA Legends and even Rap Legends!
